To limit complexity and shipping expenses, the electronics were purchased as a kit, although to improve functionality I made several modifications as described on the Electronics page.

A majority of the non-enclosure printer parts were also taken and modified from existing CAD sketches of the Prusa i3 and its clone, the Anet A8. Since some part sketches were not available or inconsistent with others I had to redesign several parts to ensure successful assembly, although I eventually converged toward a design closely following the Anet A8.

After machining the parts were all sanded to 600 grit by hand before assembly.

To enable wireless printing over Skynet I am in the process of installing a Raspberry Pi 2 running OctoPrint
